THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PURPOSE:To eliminate a problem of effect onto a magnetic characteristic and the bonding performance of a magnetic core to the substrate and crosstalk by making the surface coarseness and slope different from the slot imbedded to a front magnetic core and the slot imbedded to the rear core. CONSTITUTION:The slide face shape of the titled thin film magnetic head has a structure that the lower core is imbedded to the slot 2 provided to the substrate. Moreover, the slot shape is formed to be V or U shape having a curvature from the bottom face when viewed from the magnetic tape slide face to avoid the parallel border between the lower core and the substrate with the operating gap 4. Moreover, the border of the upper core 4 has a curvature similarly so as not to be in parallel with the operation gap 4. Since the border lines of the upper and lower cores are not in parallel with the gap in the tape slide face, the interference between the gap and the border of the magnetic core is reduced so as to eliminate so-called contour effect.
