ROLL BEARING ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE:To reliably and quickly mount and demount the roll bearing assembly under a completely assembled condition by a simple operation, by mounting a radially slidable slider to a retainer, and providing a mechanism for mounting and demounting the roll bearing assembly along an inclined groove formed on an outer circumferential surface of a roll. CONSTITUTION:A roll 4 is formed at its outer circumference with an inclined groove 4'. A bearing 3 is mounted by radially sliding a collar 5 and a slider 7 of a retainer 6 by utilizing the inclined groove 4'. A ring 9 is mounted on the outer circumference of the retainer 6 with a spring 9 biasing the ring 9 toward anti roll neck side, so as to prevent the slider 7 from being released during rotation of the roll 4. A bearing box 1 is fixed to the roll 4 through an inner ring, rolling element and outer ring of the bearing 3. Accordingly, the roll bearing assembly is mounted and demounted reliably and quickly under a completely assembled condition by a simple operation.
