DISINFECTING COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To obtain a disinfecting composition, which is an almost colorless liquid at room temperature, containing a specific compound as an active ingredient, safe and nontoxic to the human skin and especially effective in preventing infection of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). CONSTITUTION:A disinfecting composition containing >=0.1wt.%, preferably 1-3wt.% compound expressed by the formula as an active ingredient. The above-mentioned composition is used in the form of a solid or liquid soap, etc., or by coating the surface of a condom therewith, etc. The afore-mentioned composition is produced by using ingredients employed for preparing a conventional disinfecting composition and water, ethanol, antimicrobial agent, antifungal agent, surfactant, humectant, moisturizer, perfume, colorant, etc., are cited as the ingredients. Amounts thereof used are almost equal to those of the conventional disinfecting compositions. The above-mentioned composition can be used for disinfecting hands of persons engaged in treatment-related work or tools used therefor or hands of persons engaged in hairdressing-related work or shaving faces of persons coming there or tools used therefor.
