Zusammenfassung:	The device has at its air inlet (27) a filter arrangement consisting of a preliminary filter (2) and activated charcoal filter layers (3), which are inserted in a filter cartridge (24) arranged outside the housing and accessible from the outside. In addition, there is an ion-charging arrangement (7) which enriches the air flowing through the device with ions. A humidifying arrangement serves to enrich the air with moisture, it being possible, in addition, for a further ion-charging station to be provided downstream of the humidifying arrangement (7'). At the air outlet opening (28) there is an adapter cartridge with connected inhalation tube (3a) and inhalation mask (4a), it being possible to introduce into the adapter cartridge, if desired, a web (1a) impregnated with additives.
