SEALED TYPE LEAD STORAGE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of the reaction area due to the poor adhesion with an electrode plate by containing sodium sulfate anhydride as the binder of a retainer. CONSTITUTION:An electrode plate group grouped with electrode plates 4 covered with a retainer 3' containing sodium sulfate anhydride as a binder is used. The sodium sulfate anhydride serving as the binder of the retainer 3' covers the positive electrode plate 4, the electrode plates are grouped into the electrode plate group to assemble an enclosed type lead storage battery. When an electrolyte is injected, the sodium sulfate anhydride is melted in the electrolyte, and the retainer is converted into one made of only glass fibers. The converted retainer thereby abounds in adherence with the positive electrode plates 4 and negative electrode plates in the electrode plate group, and the falling of the active material can be suppressed.
