PULSE LASER DISCHARGE EXCITING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To greatly suppress wiring inductance and to make the whole device compact by using a switching device in integral structure provided with a switching element at the internal-diameter part of a saturable reactor. CONSTITUTION:The saturable reactor SR15 and a thyratron 8 are connected in series and the thyratron 8 is provided properly at the internal-diameter part of the coaxial saturable reactor SR15 to constitute this series connection circuit. The sectional area Ai of an iron core needs to be equal and part of the thyratron 8 is utilized as a conductor. Consequently, a connecting bar 13 can be connected directly to a connecting bar 11 without the intervention of the saturable reactor SR. When this connection bar 13 is so designed to have the same wiring inductance with a conventional wiring bar, the width is made very narrow. Consequently, low inductance is obtained at the time of reactor saturation and the whole device can be made compact.
