Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled refractory material having moderate pot life and curing time and exhibiting excellent fluidity even after storage over a long period, by adding fine powder of a refractory material having a specific particle diameter and acidic pH with an acid to a compounded composition of a low-cement castable refractory material. CONSTITUTION:A conventional compounded composition of low-cement castable refractory material composed of alumina cement, a binder (e.g. silica), a deflocculant (e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate), etc., is added with fine refractory powder (excluding silica fine powder) having particle diameter of 1-10mum and acidic pH adjusted with an acid. Preferable concrete examples of the refractory fine powder to be added to the cement are alumina, mullite, chromium, etc. The obtained compounded refractory material is stable to aging with time, gives a slurry having controlled overall pH when kneaded with water and has a moderate pot life (about 1-3hr) and a moderate curing time (about 2-5hr).
