Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To aim at the stabilization of combustion at the whole driving range by installing a valve stopping device in an intake valve on one side installed in one cylinder, while installing an intake control valve as stretching over both one side of halved suction ports in an intake valve on the other and a valve stopping side suction port. CONSTITUTION:At a first driving range, a second intake valve 4 is stopped by a valve stopping device 30, while an intake control valve 15 in a spacer 12 is kept in a closed state, and air passing through a suction pipe 11 is made to pass through a suction port 7a alone from one side passage 14a, thus it is fed to a combustion chamber 2 from a normally operated first intake valve 3. At a second driving range, the intake control valve 15 is opened with an actuator 18 by a signal out of a distributor 19, and intake air is passed through both suction ports 7a and 7b. In addition, at a third driving range, a hydraulic control valve 24 is opened by a signal out of a throttle switch 17 with the opening of a throttle valve 16. Hydraulic pressure is fed to a hydraulic chamber 25 of the valve stopping device 30, whereby the second intake valve 4 is opened or closed. |
