MACHINING DEVICE BY GENERATING METHOD FOR NONCIRCULAR GEAR

PURPOSE:To make a tooth profile generable along a noncircular pitch curve, by controlling the relative motion between a rack-form tool and a work so as to make the pitch curve of a gear to be generated in the work and a pitch line of the rack-form tool both perform 'rolling contact.' CONSTITUTION:When a work WO is rotated around a shaft 3 as for as an angle A, a mutual position between a corresponding rack tool T and the work WO is controlled, whereby relative motion is givenso as to make a pitch curve P1 of a gear to be generated in the work WO and a pitch line P2 of the rack- form tool T perform rolling contact, so that a tooth profile is generated along the noncircular pitch curve P1. Since it is one made by a generating method using the rack-form tool, a tool form is simple enough and easy to get accuracy, and it is correspondable without changing the tool form even to an optional backlasher shift. In addition, a simply operating machine tool is usable.
