DESULFURIZATION METHOD IN COAL GASIFIER OVEN

PURPOSE:To promote desulfurization reaction and maintain high degree of desulfurization, by feeding a powdery desulfurizing agent having a specific particle size by means of air transport, into a gasifier oven when coals are gasified using oxygen or air and ash is discharged as slag. CONSTITUTION:Pulverized coal to be gasified is fed through a supply pipe 3 into a slag gasifying region B which is at the lower part of a gasifier oven 1, and simultaneously oxygen or air as a gasifying agent is fed through a supply pipe 4 into the slag gasifying region B. Thus, the coals are gasified, thereby forming a product gas and H2S which is a hazardous component. The product gas is discharged through a discharge pipe 6 provided on an top C of the oven, and ash is discharged as slag through a slag extraction pipe 5. Concurrently, a powdery desulfurizing agent (e.g., lime stone or zinc oxide) having a particle diameter of 30mum or less is fed into the gasifier oven 1 by means of air transport using air 15 through a desulfurizing agent supply pipe 2 provided on the top C of the oven. The desulfurizing agent reacts with H2S formed, so that efficient desulfurization is attained.
