SMELTING REDUCTION METHOD FOR METALLIC OXIDE

PURPOSE:To restrain the development of dust in smelting reduction to low by blowing coolant together with oxidizing gas from top blowing lance at the time of smelting reduction of metallic oxide by a top and bottom blowing type smelting furnace. CONSTITUTION:Carbonic solid fuel is charged on bath surface of molten metal in the top and bottom blowing type smelting furnace 2 discharging contents by tilting and the molten metal is stirred by bottom blowing gas 3a, 3b and the oxidizing gas is blown from the top blowing lance 4 to executed the smelting reduction of the metallic oxide for the aimed smelting. Then, the top blowing lance 4 is constituted by an oxygen gas supplying tube 8 and a coolant supplying tube 9, and the coolant together with the oxidizing gas are blown to the firing point 6. Then, as the coolant, the cooling gas composing of one or more among N2, CO2 or cooling gas and powder coolant (one or more among CaO, CaCO3, Fe2O3) or air and the powdery coolant, is used. By this method, the development of the dust is restrained, and lowering of the yield is prevented.
