Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a cassette adaptor which is simple in structure, high in operational reliability, and low in cost, by detecting the presence/absence of a detecting hole provided in a 2nd tape cassette and opening and closing two detecting holes provided in the bottom of the cassette adaptor. CONSTITUTION:When the 2nd tape cassette is loaded on this cassette adaptor, the presence/absence of at least one of detecting holes 2a for discriminating kind of wound tape, for discriminating tape recording and reproducing system, and for discriminating thickness of wound tape provided in the 2nd tape cassette 2 is detected and two detecting holes 1a and 1b provided on the bottom of the cassette adaptor are simultaneously opened or closed. Therefore, a cassette adaptor which is simple in structure, high in operational reliability, and low in cost and has the optimum detecting hole opening and closing mechanisms is obtained.
