ICP EMISSION ANALYZER

PURPOSE:To enable the setting of timing automatically for the start of measuring the intensity of a spectrum, by providing a sample suction tube, a bubble detection means, a time calculating section, a timer and the like. CONSTITUTION:When bubbles are mixed into a sample suction tube 16, they are detected by a bubble detection means 18. As the bubbles exist between a light emitting element and a light receiving element, the quantity of light changes and a detection signal is outputted corresponding to the changes in the quantity of light. As the timing for the start of sucking a solution sample 4 is known beforehand, the time until the detection of bubbles from the start of the suction can be found by receiving the detection signal. Therefore, a time calculating section 42 determines the sucking speed of the sample 4 from these data to calculate the time of starting measurement based on the results and the time of starting measurement thus calculated 42 is set on a timer section 44. When the time thus set expires, a measurement start signal is outputted from the timer section 44 and thus, in response to the signal, the measurement of the intensity of a spectrum is started.
