Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To determine Mg without an influence of bilirubin, etc., by reacting glucose-1-phosphate with phosphoglucomutase in the presence of Mg, adding a dehydrogenase and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) to the formed glucose-6-phosphate and measuring the produced reduced form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH). CONSTITUTION:The concentration of magnesium in a specimen, such as blood, or urine, is measured. In the process, glucose-1-phosphate is reacted with phosphoglucomutase in the presence of magnesium in the specimen to form glucose-6-phosphate. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and NAD (or NADP) are added thereto to produce NADH (or NADPH). The absorbance thereof is then measured to determine the magnesium in the specimen.
