NAVIGATION APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To enable the retention of standstill of a point displayed on CRT to indicate the present position while a vehicle stops, by constituting an apparatus of a position measuring means utilizing a satellite, a vehicle stoppage detecting means, a data alteration prohibiting means, etc. CONSTITUTION:The data on the present position of a vehicle detected by a position measuring means (a) utilizing a satellite are displayed on CRT (e) through the intermediary of a data alteration prohibiting means (c) and a navigation control unit (d). When it is detected by a vehicle stoppage detecting means (b) that the vehicle stops, the data held just before this detection are retained as they are in the means (c), and it neglects different position data even if they are sent from the means (a) and prohibits the alteration of the data on position. During the stoppage of the vehicle, therefore, a point displayed on CRT (e) to indicate the present position is retained to be standstill and shows no dispersion. When the stoppage of the vehicle is not detected by the means (b), the means (c) delivers the data on position sent from the means (a) to CRT (e) as they are through the unit (d), so that the present position be displayed thereon.
