PROTECTIVE DEVICE OF CONTROLLER FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit of an inverter inexpensively by simultaneously turning ON all or part of switching elements in the inverter circuit when an overvoltage is detected. CONSTITUTION:The output of a controller 8 is input through a pulse-width modulator 7 and 3-phase distributor 6 to a gate controller 4. The controller 4 controls ON, OFF switching elements 1. When the power source voltage of an inverter 2 abnormally rises, a voltage detector 5 detects an overvoltage, and the elements 1 are turned ON through the logic of the controller 4. The logic of the controller 4 holds the ON state of the elements as they are when the overvoltage is detected, and turns ON the elements of OFF state after waiting its timing. Thus, the circuit can be simplified inexpensively.
