CONCENTRATION OF AMINO ACID

PURPOSE:To simply concentrate the titled amino acid without requiring a lot of energy, auxiliaries and facilities, by using change of water solubility with time wherein an amino acid is mixed with a trialkylamine or N-alkylpiperidine and allowed to stand to cause phase separation. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing an amino acid is mixed with a trialkylamine (A for short) and/or N-alkylpiperidine (B for short), allowed to stand and separated into two layers. Part of water in the aqueous solution of the amino acid is dissolved in the upper layer of A and/or B and removed. Then A and/or B having dissolved in the process is heated, separated into a layer consisting essentially of water and a layer consisting essentially of A/B and the prepared A and/or B is recycled to the above-mentioned process and reused.
