PRODUCTION OF MAGNESIUM ALLOY PRODUCT HAVING COMPLICATED SHAPE

PURPOSE:To obtain a product having complicated shape and sound structure without blow hole, outer shrinkage and crack by casting Mg alloy containing Al, Mn and Si each at the specific wt. ratio by no-blow-hole die casting method making the specific temp. of the die, to make good of molten metal running. CONSTITUTION:The Mg containing 3.7-4.8wt.% Al, 0.22-0.48wt.% Mn, 0.69-1.4wt.% Si for giving high mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and high temp. creep resistance, is cast into the product having complicated shape by no-blow-hole die casting method without developing any gas blow hole and outer shrinkage. In this case, at the time of making the die temp. at 100-150 deg.C, as the gas blow hole is not developed in the pouring molten metal, the deterioration of fluidity is eliminated and good running is executed to the detail part and the product having complicated shape is cast into sound structure without any blow hole, outer shrinkage and crack.
