Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To accurately position a frame of a film by simple constitution by detecting image information on the frame and its periphery by an image sensor and storing the information, and retrieving the frame according to the stored information. CONSTITUTION:A light source 113 is turned on to illuminate a screen 116, and the microfilm 1 is conveyed by a motor 112 and stopped where there is a frame 2. The frame position is corrected to a fixed position and then an image of the frame 2 and peripheral area 8 is projected on the image sensor 118 and stored 131 as a pattern. A frame number (n) to be retrieved is inputted, a film conveyance quantity is computed 132 from the pattern signal SB of the storage 131, and the motor 112 is driven 134 with an output SC. Further, marks 3, and 4a-4c of the film are detected with a signal SD read out of the storage 131 and counted by a blip counter part 133, and when the counted value reaches the set number (n), the arithmetic part 312 outputs a command S to stop the film conveyance. Consequently, an adjustment time is shortened and stop position accuracy is improved.
