MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To stabilize the tape traveling of the conditions for stabilizing a reproducing picture plane by working the position correction means performing position correction motion so that a magnetic tape may abut to the specific position of a guide member by using the driving force of a cassette loading motor. CONSTITUTION:The position correcting means 20 performing a position correcting motion to a magnetic tape 3 so as to abut the specific position of the guide members 19a, 19b regulating the position of the magnetic tape 3 for a rotary head drum 7 is provided. At the changing time of the traveling direction in the normal and reverse directions of the magnetic tape 3 the driving force of a cassette loading motor 45 is transmitted to a position correcting means 20 via a driving force transfer means in the state of holding a cassette 1 at cassette loading position to perform a position correction so that the magnetic tape 3 may abut the specific position of guide members 19a, 19b at all times. The momentary disturbance of a reproducing picture image at the direction reversing time and the working noise at reversing time becoming larger are thus prevented.
