Zusammenfassung:	The conical connection 2 which connects the centrifugal drum 1 to the drive spindle 3 has a first section A1 which is constructed as a frictionally engaging connection and a second section A2 in which means 4 are provided for elastically supporting the centrifuge drum. Tilting movements of the centrifuge drums which can be produced by torque unbalances are elastically absorbed in the second section A2. As a result, on the one hand, frictional corrosion is prevented from forming in the section A2 as a result of micro movements and, on the other hand, the sagging of the drive spindle 3 in the event of a tilting movement of the centrifuge drum 1 is considerably reduced. The service life of the helical (spiral) gears is extended by avoiding sagging of the spindle particularly in centrifuge drums driven by a helical gear.
