MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simultaneously reproduce a multi-track by positioning recording patterns on respective tracks on an extension line in a head tracking direction in the case of recording a signal on the tape track of the multi-track. CONSTITUTION:By switching switches 2 and 2' to a reproducing side (a) so as to reproduce a third track 13, a reproduced signal is fetched from a reproduc ing amplifier 3 to a terminal 7. A control signal included in the reproduced signal is processed in a reproducing servo circuit 5 and given to a motor 11 through the switch 2', a storage device 10 as a motor control signal 12, then tracking control is executed in order that a head positions in the center of the third track 13. In order to execute the recording in a fourth track 14, the switches 2 and 2' are switched to a recording side (b) and simultaneously the control signal of the third track 13 held in the storage device 10 is used for a servo control. Thus, the recording in the fourth track can be executed on the extension line in the head tracing direction of the third track and the control can be extremely facilitated with little quantity of the movement of head at the time of simultaneously reproducing.
