MAGNETIC ERASION HEAD

PURPOSE:To erase even a low frequency signal with high efficiency by laminating a magnetic thin film of highly saturated magnetic flux density having 1-10mu thickness and a nonmagnetic film having 2-6mu gap width onto one of paired core element pieces. CONSTITUTION:A coil winding groove 2 is formed to one of paired core element pieces 1a and 1b and a magnetic thin film 3 of highly saturated magnetic flux density is formed on the surface counter to the groove 2 of the piece 1a. Then a nonmagnetic oxide film and a nonmagnetic metallic film are sputtered on the film 3 for formation of a gap layer 4. A glass material 4 having a small heat expansion coefficient at a low melting point and high strength is filled into a cut part to secure the track width (tw). Thus it is possible to minimize the film thickness and gap length, to shorten the sputtering time for improvement the economical properties and to attain easy removal of a magnetic thin film.
