PURPOSE:To improve the convenience for use by providing a movement inhibiting means, which displays a character or a symbol instead of a control code mark at the time of input of the character or the symbol to the display position of the control code mark and inhibits the movement of data shifted toward the end of a line by a moving means, and a movement releasing means. CONSTITUTION:If the character or the symbol is inputted to the display position of a control code mark when the control code mark is displayed, the character or the symbol is displayed instead of the control code mark and the movement of data shifted toward the end of a line is inhibited to hold the format by the movement inhibiting means. If an erasing signal is outputted by the operation of an erasing key on a keyboard to erase the control code mark, the shift of the start position due to the moving means is released by the movement releasing means, and the input data is moved toward the head of the line. Thus, the control code mark is easily rewritten or erased.
