METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To express a control instruction by a code signal consisting of the small number of digits by detecting the total number of digits in addition to the contents of respective digits of a code signal at the time of discriminating a printing code and deciding a control instruction from the total number of digits. CONSTITUTION:A bar code 18 printed in the description of a book is read out by a scanner 19. A code signal from the scanner 19 is detected by a detector 20 and supplied to a CPU 13. The CPU 13 detects a control signal in accordance with the contents of respective digits in the code signal supplied from the detector 20 and the total number of digits. The control instruction is supplied to an audio reproducing processing circuit 9, a video reproducing processing circuit 10 and a playing part control circuit 16. Thus, the control instruction can be expressed by the code signal with the small number of digits.
