PURPOSE:To facilitate English character input by deciding an input by alphabetic small letter under predetermined condition and converting a small letter into capital letter. CONSTITUTION:When a English sentence is inputted with the small letter by operating the English character key area 2 of a keyboard part 1, it is stored in the memory of a CPU 5. Then when an operator depresses a capital letter changing key 10, a character decision part 7 decides the starting character of the sentence, characters following specified symbols such as a period, and whether or not decision requirements of matching with character strings in a word registration table 8 for conversion are met. Then matching small letters are converted by a character conversion part 9 in to capital letters to facilitate the English character input. Necessary parts of the capital letters are converted similarly into small letters.
