Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To mitigate thermal shock on a refractory brick at initial stage of pouring by covering one side face of the refractory brick by a metallic plate and the other side face by a metal wool at the time of casting the refractory brick at working face side of a stave cooler. CONSTITUTION:In the stave cooler, inserting a cooling pipe, which cools furnace wall, etc., of a blast furnace as the cast-in and having the refractory brick 1 at the working face side, few rows, which the plural trapezoid refractory bricks 1 are lined up through asbestos 5, are positioned as parallel at the working face side. Next, the metallic plate 2 having the same quality as the casting 4 on the one side face of the refractory brick 1 contacting with the molten metal of the casting 4 and the metal wool 3 having the same quality as the casting 4 on the other face are abutted, to execute the pouring. Holding heat of the poured molten metal is cooled while conducting to the refractory brick 1 through the metallic plate 2 and the metal wool 3. In this way, the thermal shock to the refractory brick 1 at the initial stage of pouring is mitigated and also the shrinkage force at the time of cooling is absorbed,and the stave cooler having stable construction is obtd.
