Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To decrease a coefft. of dynamic friction so as to enhance traveling stability and to improve wear resistance and durability by incorporating a specific compd. and fluorine base lubricating agent into a protective film formed on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film on a nonmagnetic base. CONSTITUTION:The compd. contg. >=2 hydroxyl groups and fluorine base lubricating agent are incorporated into the protective film formed on the thin ferromagnetic metallic film on the nonmagnetic base. Such protective film has good adhesiveness to the thin ferromagnetic metallic film and has a high lubricating effect. These effects are sufficiently exhibited even under conditions of a high temp. and high humidity and in places of extremely cold weather. The magnetic recording medium which has the small coefft. of dynamic friction, the excellent traveling stability and the excellent wear resistance and durability under broad service conditions is thereby obtd.
