Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the titled treatment having improved curl strength, elasticity and retaining properties thereof, showing ready application, containing a (hydrogen)sulfite and a disulfide compound having specific molecular weight. CONSTITUTION:A hair transforming treatment containing 0.5-20wt.%, preferably 1-10wt.% sulfite and/or hydrogensulfite (e.g. Na salt, K salt or monoethanolamine salt) and 0.2-20wt.%, preferably 0.5-10wt.% disulfide compound (e.g., dithioglycolic acid, L-cystine or N,N'-diacetylcystine) having 100-700 molecular weight. Further the hair transforming treatment is preferably mixed with an alkali agent such as ammonia water, sodium carbonate, etc., and kept in neutrality alkalinity. In application of the treatment, fixed curl strength can be maintained with the lapse of time after the lapse of given time and what is required after the application is washing with water for 2-5min.
