Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce tire noise without the running performance and durability of the tire being deteriorated, by setting the center line averaged roughness of the tread surface of a tread section connecting between the radially outer ends of side walls, in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A tire T has a pair of bead parts 1, 2, a pair of side wall parts 3, 4 extending radially from the bead parts 1, 2 and a tread part 5 connecting between the radially outer ends of the side wall parts 3, 4 and formed therein a plurality of circumferential rib grooves 9. The surface roughness of the tread surface 6 of the tread 5 between both shoulder parts 7, 8, which tread surface 6 is the outer surface of the tread 5 and adapted to make contact with the road surface when the tire T charged therein with compressed air at a regular internal pressure runs on the road surface under application of a regular load, affects to the degree of noise during running of the tire. In order to cope with this noise problem, the center averaged roughness of the tread surface 6 is set in a range of 4 to 15.
