INFERENCE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To extremely increase a searching range with a small data quantity by describing the sufficient conditions for a prescribed slot. CONSTITUTION:For a frame type knowledge base 3, an object is expressed in a frame consisting of a set of the attribute information on the object, a slot showing the relative information on other objects and the slot value and the sufficient conditions with which a set of a frame, a slot and the slot value are truth and/or falsehood are described additionally to the slot. A controller 2 refers to the base 3 and obtains an answer against the inquiry by searching a frame network. Thus the answer is obtained to the inquiry about the set of the frame, the slot and the slot value by judging the sufficient conditions of the slot to be searched and described to the base 3. As a result, the labor is reduced at the time of input of data and therefore the answering rate is improved without complicating the constitution of an inference device nor producing input mistakes.
