COMPOUND MAGNETIC HEAD

PURPOSE:To obtain a compound magnetic head which has small slide noises, a large reproducing output, and large wear resistance by using the joined body of a polycrystalline oxide magnetic body and a single-crystal magnetic bond as a core material, and arranging the single-crystal oxide magnetic body on the side of a magnetic recording medium contacting surface. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head consists of the joined body of single-crystal oxide magnetic bodies 11a and 21a which have magnetic core parts 11 and 21 on magnetic recording medium contacting surface sides and polycrystalline oxide magnetic bodies 11b and 21b which occupy the majority of a magnetic circuit arranged on the back gap side of the compound magnetic head. Thus, the joined body of the polycrystalline oxide magnetic bodies which have a small magnetostriction constant and the single-crystal oxide magnetic bodies which have superior wear resistance is used as the major part of a magnetic core half body, and the single-crystal oxide magnetic bodies are arranged on the magnetic recording medium contacting surface side, so slide noises in reproduction are reduced almost to those of a magnetic head consisting of a single single-crystal oxide magnetic body and the wear resistance is improved to prolong the life of the head.
