Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain highly stable ferromagnetic metal powder by depositing an organic metal compound on the particle surfaces of ferromagnetic metal powder and thereafter conducting heat treatment in an inactive gas atmosphere, in hydrogen gas, or in a reducing gas atmosphere mainly composed of hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:As an organic metal compound, it is preferable to contain a metal to form a metal oxide having high stability of oxidation by thermal decomposition. As the metal explained above, Al, Si, B, Ti, Zn and Zr can be used. In addition, a compound, for example, metal alkoxide compound and metal chelate compound which easily dissolves into ordinary organic solvent not easily combining with ferrometal particles, such as toluene, heptane is preferable. As a method of depositing organic metal compound to the ferromagnetic metal particle surface, after the metal particles are immersed into the solution obtained by dissolving organic metal compound into a solvent, the solvent is eliminated and organic metal compound is deposited on the particles.
