Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To produce homogeneous polyether ester amide (PEEA), having excellent high-temperature characteristics as well as rubber-like properties and capable of exhibiting high elasticity even when formed into fibers in a molten system, by polycondensing a prepolymer of nylon 66 with a specific polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) with a dicarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A substantial polyhexamethylene adipamide having carboxyl groups at both terminals and polytetramethylene oxide glycol (PTMG) having 300-20,000 average molecular weight in a molar amount of 1.2-2 times based on the polyhexamethylene adipamide are subjected to esterification reaction to provide a prepolymer and a dicarboxylic acid in a number of mol equal to the difference between the numbers of mol of both is added and polycondensed. Adipic acid is preferred as the dicarboxylic acid.
