Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform an initial adjustment and to contrive accomplishment of miniaturization, lightweightness and high reliability of the title light- receiving element by a method wherein a 6-split photodiodes, an amplifier circuit and a signal processing circuit are built-in in a package structure of a DIP 8 terminals. CONSTITUTION:A 6-split photodiode PD having A-F pattern regions and formed on a chip or a plurality of chips, an amplifier circuit which amplifies the output signal of said photodiode PD, and the chip equipped with a signal processing circuit SC and a circuit element are housed in the package of DIP8 terminals. Then, five terminals are formed into the output terminals corresponding to (A+C), (B+D), (A+B+C+D), (A+C)-(B+D) and (E+F) for example, and two terminals are set as the terminal to be used for application of source voltage, and the remaining one terminal is set as a test terminal to be used for selection of operation of the amplifier circuit corresponding to A-D. As a result, the title photodetector can be made small in size and light in weight because the signal processing circuit part can be housed in one package, connectional noise and stray capacitance due to wiring can be prevented, and an RF signal and the signal to be used for control of position can be outputted in a highly reliable manner.
