STILL PICTURE RECEIVER

PURPOSE:To fully and optionally secure a picture recording time in a VTR, etc., by stopping a reception with a timer if the picture data of specified number of pictures is received even in the midst of continuously receiving the picture data. CONSTITUTION:A transmission controller 2 converts serial data inputted from a reception input terminal 1 into parallel data and gives the picture data where a control signal, etc., are removed to a picture memory 3. When the picture data of the pictures of all the picture memories 3 is received, the reception is stopped and a starting signal is transmitted to a timer 4 so as to start the timer 4. After optional setting time lapses, the timer 4 transmits a timer action completing signal to the transmission controller 2 as a signal for cancelling stopping reception and the transmission controller 2 is restored to a receivable state again. And while the reception is stopped, the picture data is continuously outputted from the specified picture memory 3, D/A converted and outputted from an output terminal 7.
