Zusammenfassung:NEW MATERIAL:The 1-cinnamoyl-5-fluorouracil derivative of formula I (R , R and R are H, hydroxy or lower alkoxy). EXAMPLE:1-(3,4-Dimethoxycinnamoyl)-5-fluorouracil. USE:The compound has antitumor activity and is useful as a drug. It exhibits remarkable life-prolonging effect to cancerous warm-blooded animals (e.g. mouse, rat, man, etc.). PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a 3,4,5-substituted cinnamic acid or its halogenide of formula II (R is hydroxy or halogen) wity nearly equimolar amount of 5-fluorouracil in the presence of a solvent and optionally a condensation agent at 0-5 deg.C.
