Zusammenfassung: | Fine turning of rotationally symmetric outer surfaces on work pieces is carried out by a geometrically defined cutting edge (42, 44) which is guided on the outer surface by additional means, such as guide strips (50), which are supported on the work piece and are arranged together with the cutting edge (42, 44) in a cutting head (34), a flexible tool carrier (20) enabling the cutting head (34) to line up in parallel or coaxially with the work piece. Centring errors of the cutting edge (42,44) of the tool, in particular of an interchangeable tool supplied manually or automatically, are thereby automatically compensated to the extent that a predetermined fine-machining tolerance for a shaft is not exceeded. |
