ROLL TYPE TENTERING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to install nip rolls simply in a short time, by making the upper one of the nip rolls removable from a lower roll support member together with a support member for the upper roll, and by fitting the lower section of the upper roll support member in a hole in the lower roll support member so that both members are integrally incorporated with each other. CONSTITUTION:The installation of a sheet-like material 3 onto a travel line, is carried out such that a movable free roll 1b is brought to a position below the center section of the sheet-like material 3 in a such a condition that a stationary free roll 1a is previously removed, and a support member 2'' is brought to an intermediate position between the sheet-like material 3 and an end sheet-like material 7. Then, the stationary free roll 1a is brought into such a condition that the support member 2' for the free roll 1a comes to the intermediate position, and the lower section of the support member 2' is fitted into a through-hole in the support member 2''. After the positions of free rolls 1a, 1b are finally determined, both support members are fixed and integrally incorporated with each other by means of bolts 6. Thereafter, the movable free roll 1b is pushed up in association with the operation of a cylinder 4 to nip the end part of the sheet-like material 3.
