Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve a picture quality by inverting the polarity of a high-frequency component extracted from a demodulated signal for every field synchronously with the transmission side, restoring and adding a demodulated low-frequency component. CONSTITUTION:When the high-frequency component of a Q signal which is not transferred is denoted by a QH signal, and the low-frequency component of a Q signal which is transmitted is denoted by a QL signal, and in the transmission side, the QH signal has a polarity inverted for every field and is added to said QL signal or a wide band (I) signal for residual side-band wave transmission and the added signal is transmitted through the same modulating means as the modulating means 8, 9 of the respective Q signal or the I signal in a standard NTSC system. In the receiving side, a signal corresponding to the QH is extracted from a demodulated signal by the same demodulating means as the demodulating means 21, 22 of the Q signal or the I signal respectively in the standard NTSC transmission system correspondingly to the transmission side and the extracted signal has a polarity inverted for every field synchronously with the transmission side to restore the QH signal and add to the demodulated QL signal. Thereby, the picture quality of a color television system can be improved.
