Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce spatters and to improve a weld bead by applying an ultrasonic oscillation to a welding wire supplied continuously to fine a droplet of the wire tip. CONSTITUTION:When a current is supplied from a welding source to between the welding wire 1 supplied continuously and base metal 7, an arc is generated between the tip part 2 of the welding wire 1 and the base metal 7 and the wire 1 is molten continuously from the tip part 2 and the welding is proceeded. At this time, an ultrasonic oscillation current from an ultrasonic oscillator is supplied to a transducer 6 and the ultrasonic oscillation of which mechanical amplitude is increased by a logarithmic horn 5 is transmitted to the welding wire 1 by an exciting rod 4. Metal of the tip part 2 of the wire 1 molten by the arc heat being generated between the tip part 2 of the wire 1 and the base metal 7 is formed to the fine droplet by the ultrasonic oscillation and shifted to the base metal 7 without forming the spatters to perform the satisfactory welding.
