METHOD FOR TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEX TRANSMISSION AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To efficiently use a transmission line by adaptively multiplexing a channel in which a significant signal exists among plural channels different in bit rate. CONSTITUTION:A time division multiplex transmitter has a first multiplexing circuit 110, a channel memory circuit 120, a second multiplexing circuit 130 and a time slot control circuit 140. The first multiplexing circuit 110 multiplexes plural input channels and the channel memory circuit 120 writes and reads a multiplex channel signal outputted from the first multiplexing circuit 110 in accordance with an output from an assignment information memory in the time slot control circuit 140. The second multiplexing circuit 130 multiplexes the output from the first multiplexing circuit 110 through the channel memory circuit 120 and the multiplexing information from the time slot control circuit 140. The time slot control circuit 140 outputs multiplexing information for updating and shifting the multiplexed channels in a transmission frame to the 2nd multiplexing circuit 130.
