LOWERING AGENT FOR LIPID IN BLOOD CONTAINING ISOCARBACYCLINS AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE:To obtain a lowering agent for lipid in blood useful for treating hyperlipemia having high concentration of lipid such as cholesterol, triglyceride, in blood and various diseases caused by hyperlipemia, containing an isocarbacyclin as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An isocarbacyclin shown by the formula (R is H, 1-10C alkyl or 1 equivalent cation; R is H or methyl; R is 3-10C alkyl, 3-10C alkynyl, phenyl, etc.; n is 0) is blended with a carrier, excipient, diluent, etc., and pharmaceutically manufactured by a conventional procedure to give the aimed substance. (17S)-17,20-Dimethyl9(0)-methanoDELTA-prostaglandin I1 may be cited as the compound shown by the formula. The compound shown by the formula is readily obtained by a well-known method. A dose of isocarbacyclin is 0.01mug-100mg/kg weight/day.
