ELECTROSTATIC ATTRACTING DEVICE FOR RECORDER

PURPOSE:To shorten releasing time without impairing capability to fix a recording paper, by performing intermittent ON-OFF control of the attraction by an electrostatic attracting plate. CONSTITUTION:When a command for attraction is sent from a CPU 4, a controlling means performs an ON-OFF control at a repetition period in an ON state for t sec and an OFF state for T sec, as shown at an upper part of the diagram. The wave form shown at a lower part of the diagram represents the variation in the quantity of static charge accumulated on an electrostatic attracting plate 1 under the ON-OFF control. In the first ON state in the attraction control, the quantity of charge rapidly raises to exceed a minimum attraction level in a short time. The moment the minimum attraction level is exceeds, actual attraction of a recording paper 2 is started. In the next OFF state, the accumulated charges are released, and the level of the quantity of charge is lowered. A time constant of the ON-OFF control is so set that the lowering level of the quantity of charge is substantially 0 (zero).
