MANUFACTURE OF PLATE FOR BATTERY

PURPOSE:To uniformly transfer an active material mix to the surface of a film forming roller to continuously form a film-like electrode by forming an active material mix film with a mix feed roller having coarse surface roughness and a film forming roller having fine surface roughness. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material mix 1 obtained by kneading a positive active material comprising manganese dioxide and 25 wt.% or more water is supplied between an active material mix feed roller A and a film forming roller B. The roughness of the roller A is made coarser than that of the roller B, and the mix is formed in a film serving as an electrode plate. The positive mix containing 25 wt.% or more water is compressed between the roller A and the roller B, and excess water is squeezed out. Since the squeezed water exists between the surface of the film and those of the rollers, and the adhesion to the film is increased in the roller having small surface roughness. The film is surely transferred to the roller B, and the battery plate having high reliability can be formed.
