MAP DATA DISPLAY SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To display a map mark suitable for a display device and a display contraction scale from a simple line data, by providing a shape stipulating table which stipulates a display shape classification, a display interval, and the thickness of a line to be displayed, etc. CONSTITUTION:A shape distribution processing part 12 recognizes the range of a map, the classification of the display device, and the display contraction scale to be displayed by the instruction of an operator, etc., and takes out a corresponding map data from a map data base 11 in order, and indexes the shape stipulating table 13 based on expressed classification of an event, classification of the display device, and display contraction scale, and obtains a corresponding classification of the display shape, and starts up a corresponding shape generation processing part 15. The processing part 15 recognizes the interval and the size of the shape from the table 13, and generates the shape for the line data delivered from the distribution processing part 12 starting from the start point side of a line in order by geometric calculation, etc., and performs rotation and deformation so as to follow to a supplied line, and displays a corresponding map with a color and size stipulated at the table 13.
