Zusammenfassung:	NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R represents H, lower alkyl, (substituted)phenyl or S-R (R represents H, lower alkyl or lower alkanoyl); R represents H or OH; R and R represent H, (substituted)lower alkyl, (substituted)phenyl, OH or alkoxyl; R represents H, lower alkyl or (substituted)phenyl; R represents H or lower alkyl; X represents O or S; n is 0-3] or salts thereof. EXAMPLE:8H-5,6-Dihydroimidazolo[5,1-C][1,4]oxazine. USE:A cerebral function ameliorant, antiamnesia or anti-senile dementia. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (U represents OH or halogen atom) at 70-150 deg.C in the presence of an acid catalyst while removing the generated water to form a compound expressed by formula IV. This product is reacted in a solvent such as DMF, etc., at 80-150 deg.C to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
