PAPER FEED CONTROLLING METHOD FOR PRINTER

PURPOSE:To enable printing to be started at a leading end part of recording paper, by a method wherein printing is started after feeding the leading end part of the paper to a recording position, and when the paper is fed through printing and line feeding to such a position that the paper can be pressed by a paper bail roller, the paper is fed backward, and is clamped by the bail roller and a platen. CONSTITUTION:Printing is started after feeding a leading end part of recording paper 6 is fed to a recording position (a) of a printing head, and printing is one stopped when the paper 6 is fed through printing and line feeding to such a position (b) that the paper 6 can be pressed by a paper bail roller 5. Next, the paper 6 is fed backward to return the paper from the bail roller 5 (c), and the bail roller 5 is separated from the platen 2. Then, the paper 6 is fed forward by an amount by which it has been fed backward, or by said amount plus one line, and bail roller 5 is pressed against the platen (d), thereby clamping the paper 6 by means of the platen 2 and the bail roller 5. Subsequently the printing is restarted.
