Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To perform safe water treatment at low cost, by injecting polysilicic acid having specific ultimate viscosity and a soluble salt of a metal capable of forming hydroxide in water to be treated to perform stirring. CONSTITUTION:Polysilicic acid polymerized so as to have ultimate viscosity about two times or more that of a silicic acid monomer and a soluble salt of a metal capable of forming hydroxide in water such as copper, zinc, manganese or calcium are injected in water to be treated to perform stirring. The ratio Si/M of silicon and a metal is set to 2.5-15, for example, when the metal is aluminum and both components are added in the water to be treated at concn. of about 20-30mg/l. By this method, flocculation effect is enhanced and cost reduction becomes possible.
