NEW MATERIAL:The N-substituted aniline derivative of formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl provided that R1 and R2 are not methyl at the same time; R3 is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl, lower alkenyloxy-lower alkyl, lower alkynyloxy-lower alkyl, lower alkoxycarbonyl- lower alkyl, lower alkenyloxycarbonyl-lower alkyl, lower alkynyloxycarbonyl- lower alkyl, etc.). EXAMPLE:N-allyloxyethyl-2-methyl-3-fluoro-6-ethylaniline. USE:A synthetic intermediate for haloacetanilide derivative useful as a herbicide for agricultural and horticultural use. PREPARATION:The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the compound of formula II with the compound of formula III (X is halogen). The starting compound of formula II is novel and can be synthesized according to the reaction formula.
